President Trump and his wife Melania are quarantining at the White House after both tested positive for the coronavirus, plunging the election campaign into disarray and sending much of the top tier of the US government scrambling to get tested.
The president, 74, was said this morning to have “mild symptoms”, to “remain in good spirits” and be “very energetic”. He announced last night that he and Melania, 50, were infected following confirmation that his senior aide, Hope Hicks, tested positive on Thursday after developing symptoms on Wednesday.
