Organisers of business conferences are wringing their hands as other sectors are allowed to trade

‘There’s been no work since March’

Ed Tranter summed up the frustration of many in the business events industry last week when he posted a picture of himself on a crowded Tube station platform in London. In his LinkedIn post, which has been viewed more than 50,000 times, the founder of 73 Media contrasted the packed platform with the ban on conferences in place since March.

Tranter, 47, said that organisers are used to managing crowds, and trial events have shown that social distancing is possible.
